Profile Information

What is your interest in Holotropic Breathwork? (This will be shown on your public profile.)
My interest in holotropic breathwork is for self / spiritual exploration.
Tell the other community members something about yourself. (You can change or expand this later in your Profile.)
I live in Houston and I am currently working on my master's degree in social work. I have an interest in transpersonal psychology and plan on getting my PhD in this area.
How has the practice of breathwork affected your life and work? ( This will be shown on your public profile.)
I first did hb when Stan Grof came to Houston to present a weekend workshop. It was the most incredible experience for me. I attended my first hb module in Taos, NM last summer. Words cannot describe that experience. It is a practice that truly resonates with me. I can't wait to do my next module.

Hi Linda,

Yes, I will be at both modules in Taos in August. I'm excited to hear that you'll be there too and look forward to reconnecting and sharing the space in the profound temple of transformation that is a Holotropic Breathwork training module. It's great hooking up with you here and will see you soon. much love, Kevin (econoshamanic)

I am sure that you are right about yoga and meditation. The drawback is that they both require some patience and access to trainers, at least they would for me, a person of almost no patience. At this point I am feeling overwhelmed with the needs of others, often angry, often doing what I feel I have to do instead of what I want to do, in a general state of agitation most of the time. I think for now I am looking for some participatory activities to get me tuned in and focused on priorities. If I don't clean up my act soon, I feel like I am on my way to a heart attack and I am not sure I would not welcome it.

My my, doesn't that sound dramatic? Anyway, I joined this community to try to find some options for helping me get out of my mess. Once I can bring the desperation down a bit I think I should be able to set up a regular maintenance practice, such as yoga and meditation.

Thanks for taking the time to contribute your thoughts. I did not realize how late it has gotten and I gotta go to work!

HB was a great experience for me, too. Can you suggest any other experiences that would be similar or additive to the HB? I am exploring whatever options might work.

Thanks!
